IAWP 2018 is honoured to host Mason Jenkins who will be presenting “Understanding and Supporting our LGBTQ2+ Community”.

Mason has been a professional educator since receiving his Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta in 2012. Mason Jenkins taught elementary school in Calgary before switching careers in 2017. Mason is passionate about supporting and nurturing LGBTQ2+ youth. Since 2011, Mason has presented to education boards, members of government, and civil servants about understanding and supporting LGBTQ2+ members of their communities. This workshop provides a brief history of issues facing gender and sexual minorities, provides skills to enhance your comfort in supporting diverse clientele and provides tools to ensure your work place environment is a safe place for people to identify as LGBTQ2+.
