Canada Olympic Park: Experience the Thrill

Canada Olympic Park: Experience the Thrill

Winsport’s Canada Olympic Park was the venue for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games and is still used today by the public.

The facility hosts skiing, snowboarding, and bobsleigh in the winter, but the lack of snow in the summer won’t put a halt to the amazing activities you can partake in. In the summer, Canada Olympic Park hosts mountain biking, summer bobsleigh, zip lining, mini golf, public skating, skyline luge, and free-fall jumping.

As part of IAWP 2018’s companion program, you will get to experience the Skyline Luge, which allows you to go on a wheeled gravity ride down the track through a series of twists and turns for 1.8 kilometres. The Skyline Luge is also the world’s longest luge track! Next, you’ll get to experience Calgary’s highest vantage point by riding the zip line off a ski tower 90 metres in the air and zipping down at over 100km/h! Lastly, you’ll get to rest easy by visiting Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, exploring fascinating exhibits such as a wheelchair race with a Paralympic champion, the interactive ski jumper, and try your hand at being a goalie in the 3D interactive exhibit.
